Hydration key to weight loss

With Mother Nature acting so different this winter season, a lot of you are starting your work out sessions lot earlier than last year. With the average temperatures 20 degrees warmer than usual, this has given the perfect opportunity to many outdoor enthusiasts to start shedding that winter weight early.

When you start off your 2012 individual athletic seasons full of outdoor activities you might want to double think about proper hydration. You don’t have to guzzle down quarts of water to stay properly hydrated. There are multiple ways you can enrich your body’s system by adding the proper foods in your diet.

Next time you’re grocery shopping pick up abundance of fresh fruits such as watermelon, oranges, apples, grapefruit, blueberries and strawberries. Not only will this give you the perfect amount of Vitamin C, but did you know that Vitamin
C also helps your skin? It also has the ability to help your cartilage and flexibility by keeping your joints and muscles properly hydrated. You can change up your consumption of fruits and vegetables by mixing and matching different fruits together with a splash of milk and ice to create a fantastic morning shake. If you want to go above and beyond that, then add some whey protein powder in the mix.

Are you looking to maximize your  health? Then start adding in lots of cancer fighting vegetables to your pallet. Did you know that adding H20, broccoli and tomatoes to your everyday diet can help reducing the chances of cancer developing in your body? Making your own healthy and nutritious meals at home instead of some restaurant will drastically cut down on your unhealthy eating habits and lead to a more promising result of fitness.

Quit drinking the soda pop. Lots of students are being sold this garbage by the quick and refreshing taste of high fructose corn syrup with “natural flavoring”, but in all reality you’re  just drinking sugar water which has moderate levels of caffeine. But if you’re looking for that extra spark  in your day, why not eat 3-4 square meals a day and your body won’t
have the drastic blood sugar drops that make your body crave quick and convenient junk on a daily occurrence.

If you replace the toxic substances that 25 percent of Americans ingest into their system, you will see an immediate change in your appearance and attitude overnight. Try replacing some of your old “vices” like soda pop, with  noncaffeinated tea. Certain studies have shown that if a person removes drinking soda pop from their diet for one calendar year, on an average BMI scale the participate would lose nearly 10 lbs. of their mass. If you take that principle, along with a healthy drive for exercise, you could be making an amazing transformation of yourself within a year.

Getting into shape to perfect your body and mind will take time. The more information you can gather on your own the better. Remember, personal trainers are expensive and here at the university you have excellent faculty members here wanting to help you strive for your goals for free.

Always consult a doctor before making a lifestyle change.
